The Department of History progressed to the next round of the Seals Cup ’26 after defeating Sociology on penalties in their Round of 32 clash at the SUB pitch.

The match, which kicked off at 2:30 p.m., ended goalless after regulation time, with both sides unable to find the net in the first half.

The second half followed a similar pattern, as both teams searched for goal but failed to convert their chances, leaving the score at 0–0 at full time.

The game was decided by a penalty shootout, where History held their nerve to secure a 5–4 victory.

History goalkeeper Ismail proved decisive, saving one of Sociology’s spot kicks to help his side advance.

The result sees History move into the next round of the competition.
